Answers frequently asked questions

  • Shower and faucet

    • Is it possible to place the JEE-O shower outside?

All JEE-O showers are applicable inside and outside. Please note the shower is not frost-resistant. For use of the shower during winter time, we recommend the option 365 All Weather Frost Free. This means your outdoor shower can be used in comfort all year round, and is guaranteed to be frost-free at temperatures as low as minus 22°F.

    • Is draining of the JEE-O shower before winter time enough?

No that is not enough. The JEE-O shower can be used outdoors but is not frost-resistant. If you want to be able to use the JEE-O shower throughout the year, you will have to take precautions to prevent it from freezing up. We recommend disassembling if you do not use it during winter time and store your shower frost-free.

    • Is it possible to install the JEE-O shower on cold water only?

Yes, this is possible. Herewith it is important that both delivered flexible shower hoses has to be connected on the midblock and in the lower pole from two towards one waterworks proceed.

    • Is it possible to shorten the JEE-O shower?

Yes, this is possible, with the exception of the JEE-O soho shower. All shower models with handshower can only be shortened at the lower part of the shower pole. All models without handshower can be shortened both at the lower part and the upper part.

  • Bath and basin

    • What is the weight of a bath? Is it heavy?

No, the bath is not heavy. Depending on the model a JEE-O bath weights between 80kg and 150kg. It is always possible to place a bath without making constructive adjustments.

    • Is it possible to customize a bath or basin?

No, unfortunately this is not possible, because they are made in determined moulds.

    • Is there a possibility that the colour of baths and basins fade after a while?

No, they won’t fade. A solar filter is applied in the material DADOquartz and therefore UV has a minimal influence.

    • Is it possible to repair damages to JEE-O baths and basins?

Yes it is possible to remove scratches, stains and light and superficial damages and restore the bath or basin to its original beauty. For light or superficial damage the surface can be restored by smoothing the surface with the abrasive side of green 3M ScotchBrite sponge and an abrasive household cleaner (like CIF). For deeper damage a repair kit is available to fill the damaged area.

    • Is the material DADOquartz UV resistant?

DADOquartz is manufactured from the best quality acrylic modified polyester resin available. The resin has excellent UV stability in solid surface and passes the BSEN438 resistance to colour change with a blue wool scale value of 6. As a result of this DADOquartz will tolerate sunlight under normal circumstances, for instance where sunlight enters through a window or is reflected from a surface it’s colour change will be on par with the best resin based materials on the market.

  • Cleaning and maintenance

    • How should the JEE-O stainless steel products regular be maintained?

Clean the JEE-O stainless steel products with lukewarm water and a soft cloth. If required, use a mild natural soap or citric acid. Avoid aggressive chemicals, strong acid or base cleaning agents or scouring agents. Always rinse generously with water after using any cleaning agent. We advise you clean your brushed-finished shower after installation and regularly. You can clean and protect it with a suitable stainless steel cleaner or JEE-O Protect. For polished finishes we also advice to clean it after installation, but be gentle in applying stainless steel cleaner. Use limited amounts of cleaner and spray it on a cloth before applying it to the shower. Using too much cleaner or spraying it directly on the product might cause a blue oil-like hazy effect. Coated products should not be cleaned with a stainless steel cleaner or JEE-O Protect. Use cleaning vinegar or alcohol to clean the products.

    • How should the JEE-O shower head be cleaned?

The showerhead can be removed. Submerge it in cleaning vinegar for 24 hours and rinse intensely afterwards. You may use a needle to clear out residue limescale from the small water holes. Don’t do this with showerheads that use silicon nozzles.

    • How should marks and limescale can be removed?

You can treat marks and limescale more intensively as follows.

      • - Always try to remove the dirt with lukewarm water and a soft cloth first, with a soft soap or alcohol solution if required.
      • - For non-coated JEE-O products (brushed or raw), persistent dirt can be treated with a sponge and stainless-steel cleaner. Do not spray the concentrate directly onto the JEE-O product. Spray it onto a cloth and then use that to wipe. Avoid scratching the product with your sponge. Rubbing motions should follow the polishing direction of the material.
      • - The showerhead can be removed with the tool supplied with your product. Remove the shower-head and place it in limescale resolving liquid such as natural vinegar or a diluted citric acid solution.
      • - Always rinse generously with water after using any cleaning substance. Dry the product with a soft cloth afterwards and before treating the product with JEE-O Protect.
      • - Treating your product with JEE-O Protect helps to prevent the build-up of dirt and scale. Spray JEE-O Protect on a soft cloth and polish the cleaned surface with this.
      • - JEE-O Protect is available through your JEE-O dealer

    • What to do if dirt, corrosion and scratches persist?

The brushed finishes of stainless steel products can be treated more intense if needed to remove persistent stains. You may use a metal polisher and polish the shower with a soft cloth following the brush-pattern. After polishing, clean the product with a clean cloth. You may want to apply JEE-O Protect after polishing. Then leave the product for 12 to 24 hours untouched. Contact your local Customer centre about the possibilities for treating persistent dirt, corrosion and scratches on coated and polished products.

    • How could damages (for example scratches) to the JEE-O shower be repaired?

Light damages like scratches can be removed with Peek. Peek is a polisher for stainless steel and available in  D.I.Y. shops. Please pay attention by brushing; always brush in the grate direction of the freestanding shower. This is not important for a polished version of the shower.

    • How should the baths and basins be maintained?

We recommend to maintain the baths and basins regularly. Our baths and basin products can be readily cleaned with abrasive products like Scotisch bright and CIF / DADO cleaner. Take care to rinse the product’s surface thoroughly after cleaning.

We recommend to regularly maintain the shower after installation with JEE-O protect stainless steel cleaner. Please use acid detergent to remove stains of chalk.

    • Which approach is recommended by repairing small damages and scratches on a bath or basin?

      - start by using fine grained aluminium oxide sanding paper with a grain size of 240. The area with the scratch can be sanded until the scratch has disappeared.  Make sure the sandpaper is wet frequently. - make the surface dry and check if the scratch is gone. - afterwards polish the surface with aluminium oxide sanding paper grain size 400. - than dry the surface. - finally maintain the bath or basin with the 3M ScotchBrite sponge that is delivered with the bath or basin.
